Marie Stoy-Koch
Marie Stoy-Koch runs Lango Foreign Languges for Kids in Metro Atlanta. She also sits on the board of directors as VP for the Lango Language Cooperative. Marie is originally from New Mexico and hold a Bachelors in Marketing from NMSU. After working at Turner Broadcasting for 10 years, including as webmaster for CNNenEspanol.com, Marie turned her attention to early childhood development and early language acquisition. She has been teaching Spanish classes and developing her Lango business since 2008 - which now provides classes in over 25 schools around metro Atlanta. Marie enjoys traveling with her family and writing. She published a book called, "Tell me Santa Fe, ¿Cuántos Años Tienes Tú?". The children's book helps teach Spanish, with gorgeous photos of Santa Fe (taken by Marie's dear lifelong friend Sheri Granger) celebrating Santa Fe's 400 year anniversary.
Christine Rochon
Christine holds a Bachelors degree in Spanish and a Masters in Elementary Education. Before joining the Lango team, Christine taught Spanish with a play-based Spanish learning program for five years in Michigan. Christine has experience working in afterschool and summer camp programs for children under 12 and has also worked with gifted and special needs students in various programs. Her genuine care for the children in her classes shows and the children adore her.
Nicole Gubin
Nicole is a native Spanish speaker from Chile with more than nine years experience tutoring children and adults. She has a degree in Theater Direction, Mime & Pantomime Movement. Many of her teaching methods are based largely on play and applying techniques gained from her experience teaching theater and acting. These help create an environment where learning becomes intuitive, fun and inclusive.
Nicole very much likes to work with groups of all ages and takes a sincere interest in the growth and development of each student. In addition, she tutors elementary school children in homeschool settings as well as tutoring separate classes of children ages four to fifteen. She has two kids (8 & 6 years old) with whom she leads a healthy and active lifestyle and enjoy art related activities. One of her favorite hobbies is oil painting. She loves to dance and enjoys listening to music from different countries (Indian, Arabic, African and, of course, Latin music).
Agatha Stokes
Agatha Stokes, is from Guatemala and grew up in a bilingual home. She is now raising a bilingual daughter and understands the challenge it represents. Agatha is truly grateful to her parents for the time, energy and money they invested in order to provide her with this wonderful gift and she is glad to share it with your kids. In her spare time Agatha enjoys spending time with her family, reading and cooking.
Janet Martinez-Nieto
Janet Martinez-Nieto is a native Spanish speaker from Mexico. She earned her associate degree in Business Administrative Technology from Gwinnett Technical College. Currently, Janet is working on her B.A. in Early Childhood Education at Georgia Gwinnett College and she has a special interest in second language acquisition.Janet comes from a family of educators. She spent eight years working at Path Academy charter school in Atlanta. She gained experience in the classroom working as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional. She has also volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club tutoring elementary school students.
Janet enjoys learning about Hispanic countries and the different cultures. She also enjoys traveling. Over the summer, she visited Puerto Rico to enrich her knowledge in the culture. One of her ultimate goals is to travel to every Spanish speaking country. In her spare time, Janet enjoys Latin dancing, reading, rock-climbing and exercising.
Vanessa Zelasko
Vanessa is a Hispanic-American whose parents are from Ecuador. Growing up she learned how to speak English and Spanish at the same time. She is first generation American and is very fortunate that her parents were kind enough to take their time to teach her their native language. Being bilingual has been very helpful for Vanessa in areas where Spanish has become very needed. She is an Art Graduate from the University of Central Florida. Although she has a degree in art, she has found herself leaning towards a career in education.
Vanessa loves languages, nutrition, decorating, printmaking, sculpting/ceramics, cooking and dancing. Vanessa lives in Atlanta with her husband, cat and bird.
